- Is the O Ride affiliated with _______?
No, the O Ride is not affiliated with, sponsored by or part of any club, bike shop, restaurant or brewery. - Can I invite my friends to come ride?
Yes! As long as they meet the basic "rules" and aren't assholes, everyone is welcome to join! - Is this a "no drop" ride?
These are not necessarily "no drop" rides. We assume you are an adult and can communicate with your fellow riders if you need help along the way. If you need a little time because of a bike issue, we are happy to wait for a bit. - How long are the rides?
Our routes are typically 40-75 miles and 3000-8000 ft in elevation. - When do the rides start?
Saturday rides start at 8:30 in the winter and 8 am in the summer, subject to change depending on weather conditions. - Where do the rides start?
Wherever the route of the week is set to start. Typically, routes will start in T.O. or an adjacent community. Sometimes we'll start in Ventura, Solvang, Pasadena, Santa Barbara or somewhere else fun! - Will we have field trips?
Yes! We will have days where we will ride with other clubs and have ride starts at different locations. If you don't feel like going, you have the power to say no and talk some friends into doing something else - Who will lead the rides?
Anyone can speak up in the Whatsapp chat, suggest a route, and be the ride leader for the week! - How will the weekly route be announced?
Rides will be posted in the Whatsapp chat and/or on the schedule page. - We keep in touch via WhatsApp chat. Just ask anyone already in there to invite you to the chat!
- General Ride Parameters:
-Understand that this is a group ride – please don't blow it up.
-We typically paceline the flats. If you’re unfamiliar with riding in a paceline, check out this online tutorial.
-We call out any objects on the road.
-We regroup at the top and bottom of all featured climbs/descents. Feel free to climb your heart out on the hills and descend as fast as you like – without killing yourself or anyone else.
